Afrinvest introduces online trading solution

AFRINVEST Securities Limited has launched a web portal that enables individual investors and institutional clients to trade Nigerian stocks and other investment products online, using their personal computers and other smart devices- Afrinvest.com.

The Managing Director of Afrinvest Securities Limited! Charles Egbunonwo, said: “Afrinvest has always placed a premium on the use of technology as a business enabler, and the introduction of Afrinvestor.com is to empower clients to take more control of their investments, supported by sound investment advice and professional guidance.

“Our clients and investors will not only be able to initiate and execute trade online; they can also view (and edit) their account information and portfolio performance, access a wealth of in-depth equity research as well as market data and intelligence on companies, key sectors and the broader Nigerian economy, all from the comfort of their homes or offices.”

Speaking on how to begin trading on the portal, Egbunonwo pointed out that existing clients can request for their login credentials by sending an email to the designated address, while new clients need to complete the online account opening form and upload required documents to set up their account and begin trading, with “ no minimum account opening balance required.”

The move to electronic trading compared to floor trading continues to increase with many of the major exchanges the world over now doing all their business online. Benefits to investors include reduced cost of transactions, greater liquidity, greater competition, increased transparency and tighter spreads, especially for commoditised, exchange-traded instruments.
