Hon. Justice Rose Ukeje (OFR)
Honourable Justice Rose Ukeje is a retired Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria. She was first appointed a Judge of the Federal High Court on November 12th 1986, and Chief Judge, Federal High court on October 24th 2001. Previous to her appointment as a Judge, Justice Ukeje had served in a variety of positions within the Federal Ministries, particularly service as the Deputy Legal Draftsman, Federal Ministry of Justice, Lagos (1981-1986). Hon Justice Ukeje also served in several capacities, outside Nigeria, which include, State Advocate (DPP division) Ministry of Legal Affairs, Lusaka, Zambia (1972), Assistant Legal Draftsman, Ministry of Legal Affairs, Lusaka, Zambia (1973). She was the Legal Adviser to the International Committee of the Second Festival of Arts and Culture, FESTAC’77 (1975-1977). She has contributed to the Drafting and Publication of several Acts, Decrees and Subsidiary Legislation of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1973-1986), during her service in the Federal Ministry of Justice. She has also to her credit, several 28 Judgments and Rulings and Orders covering various issues within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court.
