Ahmed Carew, Money Markets/Currencies

Ahmed Carew is Head, Money Market and Currency Trading Department. He has over 10 years of experience in Treasury management, Risk management and Operations. He commenced his banking career at MBC International Bank Ltd, where he served in various units of the bank which include Operations, Risk Management and Treasury department. He started as a currency trader in the Treasury Department and later became the Head of Treasury up until the banks’ consolidation with First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2005. He was a pioneer staff of the Foreign Financial Institution department of First Bank of Nigeria Plc where he worked with various Export Credit Agencies (ECA’s) and Developmental Financial Institutions (DFI’s). He also had a brief stint with GE Capital UK as a Credit Cards Underwriting Associate and Finbank as the Chief Dealer, Treasury Group.Ahmed is a Chemical Engineering Graduate from the University of Lagos and also received a Masters in Degree in Business Administration from Bradford University School of Management, UK.
